Missing Middle Competition

The City of Edmonton held a “Missing Middle” Infill Design competition in 2019. The intent was to get some innovative ideas on how to redevelop older neighbourhoods who are largely missing middle income row housing, triplexes/fourplexes, walk-up apartments, etc. In newer neighbourhoods, these types of properties are sandwiched in between the apartment buildings and detached homes. Younger generations are being drawn to the outer edge communities. The winner of the competition won the right to purchase parcels of city owned land to develop on this new “missing middle” premise. #albertacivilengineers @bolsonengineer
