First Deep Freeze of 2020

It’s the first deep freeze of 2020! Extreme cold is really hard on our infrastructure. As civil engineers, our job is to ensure that we build resilient structures that can withstand our extreme climate conditions here in Alberta. The wire tension of power lines can double as it contracts in a deep freeze. Although more expensive, lines are often built underground to minimize damage.
