City Of Edmonton Zoning Bylaw Changes

The City of Edmonton Council held a vote on August 20, 2018 to approve changes to zoning bylaws to make basement suite easier in Edmonton.  With mortgage rates going up, this will give many future homeowners more housing options with income potential.  Now it will be easier to have a legal self-contained income suite in semi-detached house, duplexes and row houses.  This will also increase density in Edmonton neighbourhoods particularly homes close to public transportation.   Some interesting ideas to keep in mind when designing a new subdivision.
